  • Do you offer move-out services?

    Moving is a lot of work, but booking our move-out cleaning can make it a little easier and it comes with our Move Out Cleaning Guarantee. Ensure all personal items are removed, electricity and water are still available, and we will clean your completely empty apartment after you move. Any items left in your unit that can be carried by hand may be disposed of. We are unable to provide a Classic, Signature, or Premium cleaning in an empty apartment.

    The Move Out Cleaning Guarantee means that if you are assessed any cleaning-related fees after a Spruce move-out cleaning is completed, send the invoice our way. We’ll be happy to refund you for cleaning-related fees due to your service not being up to standard; services you wouldn’t normally book with a housekeeper are excluded. For example, we like to leave carpet cleaning, carpet repair, painting, appliance damage, electrical work, mold & mildew remediation, and other specialized work to the appropriate professionals. Our pros are insured for housekeeping & cleaning, so you are covered for the work we do best.

  • What will be cleaned during my service?

    This service only covers interior spaces in completely empty units. Move Out Cleanings include the removal of two bags of trash. Additional trash removal should be purchased as an add-on in increments of in increments of two and four bags. Please contact service@getspruce.com for details or to add this to your service retroactively.

  • What won’t my Move Out Cleaning cover?

    This service excludes any outstanding maintenance work, which will not be covered by our housekeeping checklist. We leave the following specialized work to the appropriate experts: carpet cleaning, repair work, painting, appliance damage, electrical work, mold & mildew remediation, and any other items not typically booked through a housekeeper. Our move-out cleaning guarantee is only valid if the unit is completely empty. It does not cover cleaning for a unit that still has items throughout.  

    Please note that our Move Out Cleaning Guarantee only covers interior spaces. Other than a light patio sweeping, exterior spaces such as garages are excluded.

  • What do I need to do to prepare for my service?

    Please ensure all personal items are removed and that electricity and water are still available and operational. Please note, units must still be in the resident’s possession for a Move out Cleaning to take place, and we are only able to perform Move Out Cleanings on completely vacant units (emptied of all personal items).

  • What will happen to any items I leave behind in my apartment?

    We are not responsible for the removal of any items that will not easily fit within a small trash bag able to be carried out by hand. Any items left in your unit that can be carried by hand may be disposed of by your housekeeper. Spruce is not liable for these items left behind as the unit must be entirely vacant for our move-out cleanings. We are unable to provide a Signature or Premium cleaning in an empty apartment.

  • Can I choose a specific arrival time?

    Our move-out cleanings have a large booking window because these services take a lot of time for our team and we want to ensure we allocate enough space for other services as well as move-out cleanings.

    While requests for arrival times can be made in our notes, we cannot guarantee a specific arrival time. Instead, we ask that the day you book your move-out cleaning is one when your unit will be entirely empty and when your utilities are still on.

  • What happens if I don’t pass my inspection after my service is complete?

    At Spruce, we understand that moving is stressful and the last thing we want you to worry about is a disappointing service. This is why we’ve got you covered with our Move Out Cleaning Guarantee. The Move Out Cleaning Guarantee means that if you are assessed any cleaning-related fees after a move-out cleaning, send the invoice our way. We’ll be happy to refund you for cleaning-related fees due to your service not being up to standard, excluding maintenance items and other areas our team is not equipped to handle. 

    We leave the following specialized work to the appropriate experts: carpet cleaning, repair work, painting, appliance damage, electrical work, mold & mildew remediation, and any other items not typically booked through a housekeeper. Our team is insured for housekeeping and cleaning, so you’re covered for all of the work we do best. 

  • Are there any situations in which extra charges may apply?

    In the event that several boxes, bags, or personal items need to be removed, additional charges may apply depending upon the volume and time required.
